Keynote Speaker

Donovan Bailey (born December 16, 1967) is a retired Jamaican-Canadian sprinter. He once held the world record for the 100 metres. He recorded a time of 9.84 seconds to become Olympic champion in 1996. He was the first Canadian to legally break the 10-second barrier in the 100 m. Particularly noted for his top speed, Bailey ran 12.10 m/s (43.6 km/h; 27.1 mph) in his 1996 Olympic title run, the fastest ever recorded by a human at the time. He was inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame in 2004 as an individual athlete and in 2008 as part of the 1996 Summer Olympics 4×100 relay team. In 2005, he was also inducted into the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame.

Master of Ceremonies

Marco Carducci is a Canadian professional soccer player and is the captain and all-time appearance leader of Cavalry FC of the Canadian Premier League. Born and raised in Calgary, Marco was the first CPL player to be called into the Canadian Men’s National Team. Outside of his playing duties, Marco serves as President of PFA Canada, the union representing CPL players and non-union Canadian professionals abroad. His passion for sport extends to his position in sponsorship and community relations at his local youth soccer club, Calgary Villains FC, and in his role as an ambassador for KidSport Calgary. After being diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2022, Marco has become an advocate for men’s health awareness and works closely with Oneball, a Calgary-based charity focused on supporting patients, increasing awareness, and funding research. 

Joe Amantea has been fortunate to grow up in Calgary where he has had a ringside seat to the ups and downs of the city’s fluctuating economy. Happily married to his lovely wife Ann, Joe is the proud father of Connor, Britt and Cole, all of whom call Calgary home.

Ryan Leslie has been a fixture on the sports scene in Calgary and across the NHL landscape for years.  

5 years of anchoring & covering local  sports for Global Television allowed to hone his craft before moving onto network television with Sportsnet where he anchored & covered everything from the NHL, MLB, MLS, to national teams international events.   After being relocated to Toronto to anchor, Ryan returned to Calgary to host afternoon sports radio for Sportsnet. 

After a year of radio, Ryan joined the Flames as host of Flames TV where for 5 years, he had unparalleled access working for, and travelling with the Flames. 

From there it was back to Sportsnet as host and reporter for all Flames games on Hockey Night in Canada and Sportsnet.  From regular season games to playoff games, Ryan brings his style of humour to go along with his insight and trusted information to hockey fans across the NHL landscape. 

Ryan has 2 daughters (both St Francis Browns) and a golden retriever named Backer.
